The Parent Peer Trainer (PPT) Program The PPT program is a parent based program that makes home visits to allow a more personal understanding of the situation that parents come across with the educational development of their child(ren).The PPT program's goal is to acheive an increase in the amount of communication between the parents and the school district; as well as improve acheivement, social behavior, absenteeism, disipline rate, and the child's health.
The PPT program :
- Acts as a liaison between home, school and the community.
- Reinforces positive parenting practices by helping parents enrich their children’s home and school environments.
- Provides information and referrals to community outreach agencies and programs.
- Maintains an ongoing, working, relationship between school and community personnel.
- Provides guidance and advice to parents. Allowing them to take the necessary action to achieve their desired goals.
In an effort of keeping the client's situation confidential information is given on a need to know basis.
